WORLD OF WARCRAFT: FOREVER / CLASS GUIDE
Shape the fight with weapons, Rage and a shield.
Warrior offers a choice between committing to weapon pressure and taking responsibility for the front line. Its current trees make that choice tangible: Arms connects attacks and control, Fury develops a stronger flow of swings and Rage, and Protection rewards fighting with a shield. Start with the situations you want to handle, then compare the tools each tree provides.

THREE WAYS TO BUILD YOUR CLASS
Compare the three trees and a few of their defining talents. Names, ranks, and descriptions below come from the attributed beta snapshot; the summaries are editorial guidance.
Datamined · source build 1.60.1.69876 [4]
Weapon damage and control
Arms ties its damage to weapon identity and opportunities created by existing attacks. Its highlighted tools show a mix of sustained pressure, weapon decisions and a direct answer to enemy healing.
Melee attacks against an enemy affected by your Rend can make Overpower available. This gives Rend a connection to a follow-up attack.
Your melee attacks against targets afflicted by your Rend have a 2% chance to activate your Overpower ability for 1 attack on your current target. Lasts 6 sec.
Your melee attacks against targets afflicted by your Rend have a 4% chance to activate your Overpower ability for 1 attack on your current target. Lasts 6 sec.
Your melee attacks against targets afflicted by your Rend have a 6% chance to activate your Overpower ability for 1 attack on your current target. Lasts 6 sec.
Your melee attacks against targets afflicted by your Rend have a 8% chance to activate your Overpower ability for 1 attack on your current target. Lasts 6 sec.
Your melee attacks against targets afflicted by your Rend have a 10% chance to activate your Overpower ability for 1 attack on your current target. Lasts 6 sec.
The effect changes with the equipped weapon: critical chance for axes/polearms, armor bypass for maces/staves, or extra-attack chances for swords.
Gives your melee weapon attacks a benefit depending on the weapon. Axe/Polearm: Increases your critical strike chance by 1%. Mace/Staff: Your attacks ignore 3% of your target's armor. Sword: Your successful melee attacks have a 1% chance to trigger an extra attack on the target.

A weapon strike that also reduces healing received by its target for a limited time, adding pressure beyond the initial damage.
30 Rage | Melee Range | Instant | 6 sec cooldown
A vicious strike that deals weapon damage plus 85 and wounds the target, reducing the effectiveness of any healing by 50% for 10 sec.
Source-reported prerequisite: Sweeping Strikes. Required rank: unknown.
Attack pressure and Rage
Fury develops the rhythm of repeated weapon attacks. Off-hand support sits alongside Rage and cooldown choices, so the tree should be read as a collection of interacting effects rather than a single weapon recommendation.
Adds the off-hand weapon to Whirlwind and reduces Cleave's Rage cost. The off-hand clause makes equipment relevant to part of its benefit.
Causes your Whirlwind to also strike with your off-hand weapon, and reduces the Rage cost of your Cleave ability by 2.
Melee critical strikes speed up the next three swings, linking critical hits to a short burst of faster attacks.
Increases your melee attack speed by 5% for your next 3 swings after dealing a melee critical strike.
Increases your melee attack speed by 10% for your next 3 swings after dealing a melee critical strike.
Increases your melee attack speed by 15% for your next 3 swings after dealing a melee critical strike.
Increases your melee attack speed by 20% for your next 3 swings after dealing a melee critical strike.
Increases your melee attack speed by 25% for your next 3 swings after dealing a melee critical strike.
Source-reported prerequisite: Enrage. Required rank: unknown.
An instant attack based on Attack Power that also grants a temporary movement-speed increase in this snapshot.
30 Rage | Melee Range | Instant | 6 sec cooldown
Instantly attack the target causing damage equal to 35% of your Attack Power plus 30 and increasing your movement speed by 10% for 10 sec.
Source-reported prerequisite: Death Wish. Required rank: unknown.
Shield tanking
Protection combines threat, defensive responses and ways to keep using abilities while under attack. Several bonuses explicitly require a shield, making that requirement central to the tree's identity.
Dodging or parrying can generate Rage while a shield is equipped. Additional ranks increase the listed trigger chance.
Grants you a 50% chance to generate 5 Rage when you Dodge or Parry while a shield is equipped.
Grants you a 100% chance to generate 5 Rage when you Dodge or Parry while a shield is equipped.
Source-reported prerequisite: Shield Specialization. Required rank: unknown.
Allows Charge while in Defensive Stance. Its text changes the stance restriction; it does not establish an unrestricted in-combat Charge.
Your Charge ability is now usable while in Defensive Stance.
A high-threat shield attack enhanced by Block Value, with a listed chance to remove a magic effect from the target.
20 Rage | Melee Range | Instant | 6 sec cooldown
Slam the target with your shield, causing 421 to 439 damage, increased by your Block Value, and has a 50% chance of dispelling 1 magic effect on the target. Causes a very high amount of threat.
Source-reported prerequisite: Concussion Blow. Required rank: unknown.
TOOLKIT, CHOICES, AND ANNOUNCED CHANGES
Beta talent snapshot
The snapshot offers several different answers to resource management. Anger Management adds a slow income during combat, Boundless Rage raises storage, and Focused Rage lowers offensive costs. These effects solve different problems: receiving Rage, holding it, and spending less of it.
Stance changes also remain part of the talent text. Improved Tactical Mastery retains additional Rage when changing stance, while Vanguard permits Charge in Defensive Stance. Read those conditions before comparing two plans; an effect tied to a stance or a shield is not a permanent bonus in every setup.

| Plan | What the snapshot emphasizes | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Arms | Rend, Overpower, weapon-specific benefits and two-handed damage. | Bloodthrill's Rend condition, Weaponmaster's equipped-weapon branch and Mortal Strike's healing reduction. |
| Fury | Off-hand attacks, attack speed, Rage capacity and offensive cooldowns. | Dual Wield Specialization's separate damage, Rage and hit effects; Death Wish's increased damage taken. |
| Protection | A shield, defensive reactions, threat and cheaper attacks. | Defiance requires both Defensive Stance and a shield; Master of Defense requires a shield for its Dodge/Parry Rage. |

Beta talent snapshot
Protection connects defense to actions you can take next. Shield Specialization returns Rage from blocks, Master of Defense does so from dodges or parries with a shield, and Bastion increases damage while that shield is equipped. Shield Slam then supplies an attack whose listed damage benefits from Block Value and produces substantial threat.
The defensive tools serve different moments. Last Stand temporarily increases maximum Health; Concussion Blow stuns a target; Improved Shield Wall changes a major defensive cooldown. Their presence does not make them interchangeable, and the snapshot alone does not establish an encounter's immunity or damage pattern.

BETA / REVIEWED SEPTEMBER 23, 2026
The opening beta supports characters through level 20. Blizzard plans to raise the cap to 30 later in testing, so a full tree preview includes talents beyond the opening playable range. [5]

Issue update: [6]EXPLORE YOUR BUILD
Browse all 53 talents and 154 rank descriptions across the three trees. Inspect talent icons and pop-up descriptions, add or remove experimental points, and save or share a plan.
The planner uses an editable point budget. Required prerequisite ranks, tier requirements, level-by-level point rules, and Legacy interactions remain unverified, so a saved plan is an experiment to revisit as the beta develops.
